The Bloch Dance World Cup 2016 is to be celebrated with a commemorative sheet of stamps issued by Jersey Post on Wednesday 22 June.
The Dance World Cup is the greatest all-genre dance competition in the world and this year, Jersey will play host. The stamp sheets created by Jersey Post are made up of twenty self-adhesive UK Letter stamps, each affixed to a decorative label. Vibrant and colourful, the sheets have been designed to convey the fun and excitement of this major international event whilst portraying some of the different dance genres which will feature in the competition.
John Grimshaw, Chairman of the Dance World Cup comments: “We are honoured that Jersey Post has marked our world event by producing these stunning stamp sheets, which I know will be greatly appreciated by all the dancers taking part. This is the first time the Dance World Cup has had the ability to spread the word of our competition via the postal service and we hope that other countries will follow Jersey Post’s lead.”
The Dance World Cup will take place between 25 June and 2 July at Fort Regent and will see dancers compete in a variety of different dance genres including ballet, jazz, hip-hop and tap.
Commemorative Stamp Sheets will be on sale from the Jersey post offices at Broad Street, St Helier and Rue Des Pres, St Saviour from issue day and can be ordered online now at www.jerseystamps.com or
