Jersey Post & Go is the next generation of self-adhesive stamps overprinted with the postage on demand and powered by Royal Mail. It represents a new and very exciting way to begin or enhance a Jersey stamp collection and the first instalment of the series features the Jersey flag.
Speaking on behalf of Jersey Post, Sally Diamond said: “The first Royal Mail Post & Go stamps were introduced in 2008 and various designs have been introduced ever since. We have been working with Royal Mail over the past twelve months to introduce this new product to Jersey stamps and to offer something new and exciting to all collectors.”
Just like Royal Mail Post & Go stamps, Jersey Post & Go stamps carry unique identification numbers depending on the machine and session number of where and when they were issued. Jersey Post & Go stamps issued by the Jersey Philatelic Bureau for sets, Presentation Packs and First Day Covers are printed on a ‘B Series’ Back Office machine.
Miss Diamond continues: “We launched Jersey Post & Go with an exhibition machine in London so that we can gain the valuable feedback we need from this select audience, before making a decision regarding a mobile machine based in Jersey. The Jersey flag was issued from the new J001 machine alongside Royal Mail’s Union Flag.”
Mail order supplies are being produced from a back office machine to fulfil ‘B series’ orders for collectors (mint/CTO), First Day Covers and Presentation Packs. Orders are now being taken by the Bureau or collectors can buy them online at: www.jerseystamps.com
‘B series’ collector strips are also on sale for operational use at Broad Street Post Office in St Helier.
