A new overprint celebrating the 60th anniversary of Jersey Zoo, which is operated by Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, will appear on Jersey Post & Go JE02 and JE03 stamps from 26 March 2019.
Opened in 1959 by world renowned naturalist Gerald Durrell, Jersey Zoo is the headquarters of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust which, over the years, has used their knowledge of species management to save threatened species and now, through their work in the wild and at the zoo, focus on reconnecting people with nature to ensure the safeguarding and restoration of the natural world.
Jersey Post’s commemorative overprint, which will appear on Crest of Jersey stamps from the JE02 kiosk and Durrell: Saving Primates stamps from the JE03 kiosk, will feature the words: Durrell 60th Anniversary. The overprinted stamps will be available to vend from 26 March to 23 April 2019.
Durrell: Saving Primates stamps, will continue to vend from the JE02 kiosk, alongside the Crest of Jersey stamps but will not carry the commemorative overprint.
Jersey Post’s JE02 series Post & Go kiosk, powered by Royal Mail, is located in Jersey Post’s Broad Street post office in St Helier. The JE03 kiosk is located in the foyer at Jersey Post Headquarters, Rue Des Pres.
