Eight stamps featuring traditional Christmas Fayre will be issued by Jersey Post on 27 November 2013. The set features a tantalising selection of Christmas delicacies that are all the more enjoyable due to their exclusive appearance at this festive time of year. And in keeping with the Christmas theme of ‘goodwill to all men’, the stamps have been produced with additional reduced tariffs to allow the people of Jersey to post their Christmas cards at a special rate during a set promotional period.
“Traditional Christmas stamps are always popular with collectors as well as the public so, this year, we commissioned artist Michael Pollard to paint a set of stamps, illustrating favourite food and drinks that are not usually on the menu at any other time of year,” explained Mrs Melanie Gouzinis, Philatelic Product Manager at Jersey Post. “The stamps are very quaint and also incorporate tiny Christmas figurines and decorations to really set the festive scene.”
