Spring arrives early at Jersey Post

On 14 February 2018, Jersey Post launches its fourth and final instalment in the Jersey Seasons stamps series, this year celebrating Spring.

Captured through the lens of local photographer, Andy le Gresley, this set of eight stamps portrays beautiful coastal and inland scenes as Jersey enjoys the first warm rays of sun and the countryside awakens with an array of colourful flora.  From the sun setting on the northwest coast, calm seas at Portelet Bay and picturesque valley views to a glorious display of daffodils in the woods at Rozel in the east, it is easy to understand why Jersey delights locals and tourists alike with its natural scenery and spectacular views which come alive in the spring months.

Most often associated with sunshine and beach holidays, as the days start to draw out plant life blooms, the weather calms and Jersey becomes the perfect subject for spectacular and colourful photography. “Our southerly position sheltered by the Bay of St Malo and mild winters with little frost means that visitors are often surprised by our abundance of colourful flowers early in the year”, said Melanie Gouzinis, Head of Philatelic at Jersey Post.  “Andy le Gresley has concluded this Jersey Seasons’ series, which began in 2014 with ‘Summer’, with a stunning set of images that show our island in all its beauty.”

Jersey Post’s Jersey Seasons – Spring stamps will be available to buy from all branches of Jersey Post from 14 February 2018. Philatelic stamp products such as First Day Covers and Presentation Packs will be available from the Jersey Post offices at Broad Street, St Helier and Rue Des Pres, St Saviour on issue day and can be ordered now at or by telephoning the Jersey Philatelic Bureau on: 00 44 (0)1534 516320.
